May Meeting
With only a few members, we had an informative and productive meeting –- wish you had been there!
Bill Weber announced that he has expanded his gallery and is opening it to those who would like to display their art. The cost is $120/year for a 3 x 6 wall area (or $5/month for a 3 x 3) or two pedestals. You will receive 70% of any sales, discounts on framing (already the best prices in town!) by MCM Framing, and we may have our meetings there.
The Weber Gallery is located at 700 Harvest Park Dr., Suite L, and the phone number is 634-7742. Bill told us of all that is going on in the gallery: an art school, art supplies coming, ready-made frames, there is a kiln, and an etching press.
He is planning to have fund raisers for local charities, auctions, and possibly our judged show will be held there.
On July 14th at 7:00 pm, there will be an auction with wine & hors d’oeuvres, showing off those who have signed up to display their art.
Kathy Farr representing the Brentwood Art Society talked about the upcoming Brentwood Art, Wine & Jazz event coming up on August 29 & 30th at Brentwood Park. The deadline is July 31st and you may apply at brentwoodartwinejazz.com The cost is $225 to raise funds for children’s art in schools.
Summer Meetings
The consensus on meetings was to get together quarterly with none during the summer. If anyone would like to view the Weber Gallery and MCM Framing, we could meet there in July. Please let me know well in advance.

Each Monday from 1:00 to 3:30, A Place To Paint meets in the new Senior Center (next to the water park on Balfour). All artists and whanna-bes are encouraged to join in the fun. This is a good way to keep up you painting and get to know other artists in the area.

Samantha Brown is working on the League web site at www.discoverartleague.com . Take some time to look it over. She has a packet for us to fill out and she will be adding more and more information as time goes on. She would like a self-portrait of each artist along with photos of your work. Get busy and give Samantha a call at 305-7025 or email her at sam@pomegranateink.com
