Happy New Year!


At our Christmas party we raised $357.00 for our annual scholarship fund. We can still use more donations so please let us know if you can help, and thank you to all of you who contributed!



Next Art League Meeting:



We are going to have a meeting Tuesday, Jan 4 at 12:00 at CR Framing (Weber Gallery) to plan the year! We still need some officers and all your help!!! Please plan on attending or contact Sue Clanton with what you can do for the League in the coming year. Thank You!!

Discover Art League Bi-Monthly Art Contest



Bring a piece of art to the next art league meeting to be entered in a contest. The winner will be chosen by popular vote and if you win your art will be mentioned in the following newsletter and on the Discover Art League’s website. To see past winners go to www.discoverartleague.com.



Art Show Coming Up



Brekas shows rust photographs at Metro Gallery in Reno

Just Rust…the Ultimate Palette, photographs on canvas by artist/ photographer Pam Brekas of Gardnerville, will hang in Reno at the City Hall Metro Gallery from Dec. 7- January 28. The close-up photos of rust printed on canvas convey very contemporary images. Brekas believes there is beauty in everything, even the often overlooked rust. A reception will be held Thursday January 6, 2011 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Metro Gallery (the corner of 1st and Virginia Street) in Reno.



Meet with other Artists



Art Togetherness is every Tuesday at the Weber Gallery at 10:00 am to get together with other artists to create your favorite art. Bring your project to work on and your own materials. This is a time of sharing, exchanging ideas and critique, not instruction.
